Signs of an emergency or urgent case

Please contact your registered vet without delay if your horse or dog shows any of the following signs:

• Difficulty breathing

• Sudden, severe or unrelenting pain - whether this is lameness, new severe reaction to being touched in a certain area, or colic signs in horses (sweating, looking at flanks, frequently lying down, rolling, pawing at the ground, not passing droppings)

• Inability to stand - collapse, weakness or lying down and unable to rise

• Total loss of appetite

• Visible injury - wounds, swellings, limb instability, eye injuries

• Continuous bleeding

• Neurological signs - wobbly or incoordinated gait, seeming blind, losing consciousness, seizures

• Food coming out of nose

• Difficulty foaling, whelping or passing placenta

• Prolapse of any organ (eye, uterus, rectum)

Or if you have any concern that your horse or dog might need veterinary attention.
